We do not lead with the bottle. We lead with the dish. These are the two small-batch Oaxacan mezcals we pour at every Mextapas table — chosen because they finish the food.
Mezcal Artesanal · Espadin Joven · 45% ABV
Somos Pecadores is a mezcal artesanal from 100% Agave Angustifolia (Espadin) in San Luis del Rio, Oaxaca. The agave is pit-roasted, stone-ground, naturally fermented, and double-distilled in copper. The result is a spirit of remarkable depth and balance.
Difford's Guide awarded it a coveted 5-star “Exceptional” rating, placing it among the finest mezcals assessed anywhere in the world. We pour it whenever the menu calls for smoke and structure.
Nose
Roasted agave, citrus, light smoke
Palate
Tropical fruit, green pepper, mineral
Finish
Long, warm, herbaceous
Tinga de pollo, mole verde, anything with a smoke-and-acid backbone. Sip neat to appreciate the full profile, or build it into a Pecador Negroni or Puebla Old Fashioned.
Mezcal Artesanal · Espadin Joven · 40% ABV
Sabia Maria is a mezcal artesanal from 100% Agave Espadin in Oaxaca. Approachable yet complex — designed for guests discovering mezcal for the first time and those deepening their appreciation alike.
We pour Sabia Maria whenever the menu wants brightness and floral lift — a fresh ceviche, a citrus-forward picada, anything that calls for the gentler side of agave. It is the mezcal we open first when guests are not sure where to start.
Nose
Bright agave, floral, subtle earth
Palate
Smooth, citrus, honey, white pepper
Finish
Clean, balanced, gentle smoke
Ceviche, picadas veracruzanas, fresh herbs, citrus-forward dishes. Beautiful in a Mezcal Margarita, a Sabia Spritz with elderflower and tonic, or with a slice of orange and sal de gusano.
Both bottles are poured and paired at every event. Book a public supper-club date or a private evening.
